Hi, I would love to register 2 birds for the upcoming show but it is my first time and I'm hoping someone might be able to answer a few questions for me? I have partially figured out some of the form I have for entry but I do not know what class to put as I am a complete novice. I also am wondering what the process is: when do I bring my birds in? Do they have to stay overnight? Can I bring them the morning before official judging? If I have some things to sell but do not require an entire table? Thanks in advance for any help for the newbie 😀

Hi Melissa! The show catalogue will be available soon, which will contain all the information you need to enter your birds and what the full procedure is.
For now, I will help you out the best I can!
Status: If you have been showing birds for less than four years or you have yet to win a Best Of Show award, you would be a Novice.
Division: This is based on what type of birds you are entering. The Divisions are...
Type Canaries
Colourbred Canaries
Hookbills
Finches
Budgerigars
Pets
Class: The full list of classification numbers will be available in the show catalogue. This will depend on your Division and bird's type/colour. For reference; Open Class refers to birds that you purchased, are over a year old, or were not bred by you. Current Year refers to birds that were bred by you and have a closed current year band.
Cage #: This is for the Show Secretary's use; leave this field blank.
Description: Enter a brief description of the bird, such as identifiable marks and colour.
Band #: The number on the bird's band. Leave this blank if there isn't one.
As for the procedure, this will depend. If you are entering Divisions 1-5, birds will be expected to remain at the venue for the duration of the expo. Pets can be brought home for the night, but must be brought back to the venue for the expo hours.
Bird entry registration will be from 6:00pm - 9:00pm on September 29th and from 7:30am - 8:30am on September 30th. Judging takes place between 9:00am - 12:00pm on September 30th.
In order to sell goods, you must have a table. It is possible to share a table with another vendor and split the cost, if that is preferred.
There will be more information and more current information in the new catalogue once it's been approved and released, so hold tight!
